Griffith Film School Students are Cannes Bound
For the third year running the Griffith Film School, Griffith University has been invited to participate in the market place of the Cannes Film Festival.
The Cannes Court Metrage reflects the Festival de Cannes’ desire to develop initiatives, and encourage emerging filmmakers. It is descripted by Thierry Fremaux, General Delegate for the festival, as the “link between the Short Film Competition and the Short Film Corner, Cannes Court Metrage is the proof of the vitality of a world meant to become tomorrow’s Festival de Cannes”.
Part of this future in 2012 is the showcase from the Griffith Film School. This year the School is sending 10 short films and students who will engage with other filmmakers and industry professionals from around the world.
The films range from an environmental animation set in a lifeless world with Relentless Drag; historical exploration of Australia with 1848 to coming-of-age films in Douglas Adams Eat Your Heart Out and Hummingbirds.
